Course Content

The aim of this course is to familiarise technical personnel with the duties and responsibility of ADF NDT personnel and the NDT methods available within the ADF and to provide the underpinning knowledge necessary when personnel request the development of certified NDT designs

Description. This course introduces technical personnel to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, their purpose, application and limitations. They are made aware of the capabilities, duties, and responsibility of the Non-Destructive Testing Standards Laboratory (NDTSL) and NDT Technicians. They are taught the responsibilities associated with the use of certified NDT General procedures and classifying the serviceability of the aeronautical structure or product using NDT. They are also made aware of the process to request the development of certified NDT designs with a specific emphasis on design input requirements.


Target Audience

Members attending must be Technical personnel of Commissioned rank, SNCO rank or civilian equivalent who deal with or have charge of NDT personnel.

Training Nominations

All NDTSL courses are registered on PMKeyS. When nominating for a course, member's Unit Training Coordinator (UTC) or delegate is to nominate on PMKeyS. Due to limited course numbers it is recommended amplifying comments accompany all course nominations.

Contractors. In accordance with DI(G) PERS 05-34 - Policy Framework for Defence Training Support to Contractors, civilian contractor nominations are to be forwarded and authorised through their relevant sponsoring System Project Office (SPO). Directorate Personnel – Air Force (DP-AF) will only accept nominations from the SPO's nominated liaison officer.
