The course provides theory and instruction on the five crashworthiness design principles for crash protection, which are Container (aircraft crash resistance), Restraint (occupant retention), Environment (including cargo and equipment retention), Energy Absorption and Post Crash (post-crash emergency escape provision and post-crash injury prevention). The course also provides a practical session for the identification and assessment of crash protection design issues associated with an extant ADF platform, utilising DGTA Crash Protection Assessment forms.

Only one course per year is scheduled.

Target AudienceIn accordance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Part 126 Section 1, only Defence Australian nationals (including dual nationals) who hold an Australian Department of Defence security clearance and who DO NOT hold nationality of a country proscribed in ITAR Regulation 126.1 are authorised to participate in the course.

Cost

Course Costs: There is no cost for uniformed or APS personnel.  The cost for any contractor attending the course will be $4500 (GST included) per person.

Other Costs: All accommodation, meals and transport arrangements and associated costs are the responsibility of the member’s parent Unit or Contractor.
Nomination Form

Personnel are to nominate through their Unit Training Coordinators (UTC) via PMKEYS in the first instance. If a UTC is unavailable, nominations can be submitted via the nomination forms attached.
