Technical Airworthiness Directives

This page provides a list of DGTA Technical Airworthiness Directives (TADs), both current TADs and cancelled TADs. If you would like to be added to, or removed from, the TAD advice distribution list, please contact the TAD administrator.

1. A TAD is primarily used to provide formal and consistent information and direction on matters in the Design, Construction and Maintenance domains that may seriously compromise the airworthiness of aircraft that are the responsibility of the Techncial Airworthiness Regulator (TAR).

Some examples are:

  • The need to mandate uniform action across Authorised Engineering Organisations (AEOs), Approved Maintenance Organisations (AMOs) and/or Sponsor organisations;
  • Concerns about unsafe or unsatisfactory technical conditions in one aviation system having ramifications for other aviation systems;
  • The need to institute a formal investigation into serious or potentially serious, unsafe or unsatisfactory technical conditions, relating to airworthiness; and
  • Tthe discovery of a serious shortcoming of the Technical Airworthiness Management Manual (TAMM) that has a direct and immediate impact on a range of customers.
