The Directorate General Technical Airworthiness - Australian Defence Force (DGTA-ADF) is responsible for maintaining a procedural framework for management of the technical aspects of continuing airworthiness management including design, maintenance and quality assurance regulation, together with a systematic approach to risk management. Under formal delegation from Chief of Air Force (CAF), who is ADF Airworthiness Authority (ADF AA), the Director General is the ADF Technical Airworthiness Regulator (ADF TAR) and the ADF Technical Airworthiness Authority (ADF TAA). DGTA-ADF is an agency located organisationally within Air Force Headquarters and comprises six directorates, the Directorate of Aviation Engineering (DAVENG), the Directorate of Aviation Certification (DAVCERT), the Directorate of Aviation Regulation (DAVREG), the Directorate of Aviation Compliance (DAVCOMP). the Directorate of Regulatory Reform (DREGR) and the Directorate of Business Support Improvement (DBSI).
