More transition support available for members and their families

Apr 12 2019

Members and their families can now access more transition support services to assist during their career and when they transition from the permanent military.

Defence has implemented a number of changes to the way we provide support to ADF members and their families. The following changes have been made to ensure members and their families are supported as much as possible.

The Job Search Preparation Workshop (JSP) is now available to all members throughout their career, regardless of whether they are transitioning or not. JSP is a two-day workshop covering all aspects of applying for a job. Members can also access up to two hours of individual coaching to prepare for job interviews and reinforce the skills they've learned at the workshop. The workshop is accessible through CAMPUS.

The Partner Employment Assistance Program (PEAP) has been providing funding towards initiatives to assist ADF partners with the immediate difficulties of finding employment when the member is relocated on posting. PEAP is now available to partners of members who are transitioning for medical reasons. Partners can access PEAP by completing the application form. For more information, partners can talk with their Transition Coach or contact the Defence Family Helpline (defencefamilyhelpline@defence.gov.au or 1800 624 608).

Visit the DCO website for more information and find out how we can help you and your family with a successful transition. You can also contact your local ADF Transition Centre, or email adf.transition@defence.gov.au.
