Help to find childcare

MAR 30 2016

New service to help mobile ADF families find childcare

Throughout 2016 and into early 2017, DCO will run a pilot individual case management service for childcare placement to help Defence families who face difficulties sourcing childcare.

Defence childcare service provider, Mission Australia, will provide specialist Early Learning staff to support families who need help to find appropriate childcare.

They will negotiate with all local registered childcare providers, including family day care and before and after school care, to ensure childcare is tailored to individual family circumstances.

This free service will provide parents with detailed options that will allow them to decide which childcare service best suits their family, including any children with special needs. Normal childcare fees will apply for any options selected.

The new service is available to all Defence families when they are posted to a new area or change their work or care arrangements, for example, when serving member returns from maternity leave.

Families can find out more by calling the all-hours Defence Family Helpline on 1800 624 608.
