Community groups & centres
The East Sale Family Group Inc (ESFG) was established to enrich defence and local families within the Sale community. Welcoming families into an environment that empowers individuals through shared contacts, interaction and knowledge. We currently offer a number of fabulous groups to facilitate this. Annual membership is $20 per year and includes many wonderful groups, activities and subsidised events. Further details can be found on our Facebook page “East Sale Family Group”
Little Hoots Playgroup - Please bring a piece of fruit to share. See Facebook for details. When: Monday, 9.30 am–11.30am
Coffee Club - Meet some of the other families over a tea/coffee. Venue and times change so please see our Facebook page for details. Children welcome.
Stitch & Wine - Spend some time working on any craft you like or participate in planned lessons. Project nights are held regularly for those who need some inspiration. See Facebook for details. Monday, 7 pm
Health and Wellbeing Group - Various programs run throughout the year to help with physical and mental wellbeing, including group personal training(boot camp), yoga, meditation, Pilates and much more. Or if you just need to find a fitness buddy to help you stay motivated, contact our group leader who may know just the right person for you. Join our Facebook closed group to stay updated about activities and register your interest in upcoming programs.
Coffee & Dessert – Come out on a Friday night to let off some steam and make some new friends. This is a great chance to get out of the house, take a break from the kids and relax in a friendly environment. Venue and times change so please see our Facebook page for details.
Book Club - If you enjoy reading, critiquing and discussing a good book then book club is the group for you! See Facebook for details. Once a month, 7pm
Photography Group – Learn how to get that perfect shot every time, combines theory and group outings. Contact the group for more details.Every 2nd Tuesday, 7pm
4WD & Outdoor Club – 4wd and outdoor adventures to explore the beautiful area surrounding Sale and greater Victoria. Events are organised throughout the year, you do not require a 4wd to partake, the trips include destinations that can be accessed via main roads for those that just want to explore.
The Umbrella newsletter - The Umbrella newsletter is produced by volunteers and is posted out to local Defence Families twice a year. Please pass on your address details to the ESFG Coordinator or FLO to ensure you receive a copy in your mailbox. The Editor welcomes inclusions that may interest Defence Families, email your contributions or suggestions to email@example.com
The Defence Special Needs Support Group is a non-profit benevolent volunteer organisation established to assist ADF families with a family member with special needs.

Lots of different people come to the House for lots of different reasons - to volunteer, to work, to play, to learn, to share, to teach, to relax or just to say hello and unwind. The House offers health and wellbeing classes, craft and cooking courses, childcare and many other programs.

Open Arms provides counselling and support services to Australia's military community. If you have served one day of continuous full-time service in the ADF you can call them for support. They also support families, reservists and some peacekeepers. Call Open Arms – Veterans and Families Counselling on 1800 011 046 for free, confidential counselling and group programs to support mental health and wellbeing.
