Community groups & centres
The Mactier Community Centre is located in Building 40.
The Mactier Community Centre runs groups and programs to enable us to meet the needs of our membership, with the aim of promoting community engagement and self-confidence. Currently, the Centre facilitates a number of group activities including playgroup, coffee and cake, book group, sewing lessons, craft and a walking group.
A quarterly newsletter, the Simpsons Voice, is available online and the Mactier Community Centre also administer and encourage use of our very active on line community.
The Coordinator is located in the office in front of the accommodation cell and is in the office 9.15am – 2pm Monday – Thursday
Western Area Group Support (WAGS) Toy Library at RAAF Williams, Laverton is for exclusive use by ADF and Defence APS families in the western Melbourne Region. The library provides toys, books, educational and electronic interactive games & DVDs as well as a selection of children's sporting equipment.
The Toy Library caters for children from zero to approximately early teens. The Toy Library has a wide range of toys and larger plastic play equipment that can be hired out for private parties (slides, castles, roller coaster (2-5 yr olds) etc.)
Location: The Toy Library is located at the rear of the canteen at Laverton.
Open hours: Thursday lunchtimes (excluding school & public holidays) between 11:30 and 12:30h.
Membership: Annual membership is now free There is no individual hire costs for toys (with the exception of weekend hire for private children's parties)
Loan period: Standard loan period is 2 weeks, this period may be extended subject to the popularity of the toy/equipment.
