Community groups & centres
Cerberus Cottage offers a number of activities including playgroup, ceramics and craft activities, cuppas with the Family Liaison Officer and fitness activities. The Cottage also has computer access and provides referral to all services at DCO. The Cottage Crier can be obtained from Cerberus Cottage or by contacting the Cottage.
The Cottage also runs the Temporary Accommodation - Cook Road Lodge at HMAS Cerberus, which is available to any serving member (full -time or reservist) and their families and friends. The two bedroom cottage is fully self contained (including bedding).

The Mactier Community Centre is a volunteer, not-for-profit organisation providing excellent opportunities to make new friends and learn new skills in the North Eastern Melbourne area. We are located on Simpson Barracks in Watsonia.
The Mactier Community Centre offers regular opportunities for members to meet through weekly playgroups, coffee catch ups, educational lessons and informative events. All events are open to military (all services) families and some activities and events are open to the local community.
Membership is open to the families all Defence members and APS personnel at RAAF Williams and costs just $20 per family per year. A $5 toy replacement fee is also charged for each child. This allows you to borrow two toys per child each fortnight. for those new to the library, there is a wide range of toys (over 950) from baby activities to roller skates, Nintendo DS games to board games. We are also looking for ideas for new toys. We need volunteers to lend a hand on Fridays for lending toys. Please contact the toy library on Fridays on 9256 3433.
