Childrens' services

Children’s services have been re-located from RAAF Williamtown into the Community close to the base.

The Childcare and Preschool are located at 20a Kangaroo Street, Raymond Terrace. The facility at Raymond Terrace includes a new, modern and spacious childcare centre for children six weeks to five years and preschool for children aged three to five years. The playgroup is located at Ferodale Oval in Medowie (opposite Kirrang Drive).

For information about Childcare, please telephone Mission Australia on 1800 757 343. For information and contact details for the pre-school and playgroup, please see below Community Groups and Centres section.

A long term purpose build facility is being developed at Medowie in the future for childcare, preschool and playgroup, as well as other Defence partner groups.

DCO has established an individual case management service which is being offered to all Defence families to help them source alternative childcare options. If you are experiencing difficulties accessing appropriate childcare, call the all-hours Defence Family Helpline on 1800 624 608 or defencefamilyhelpline@defence.gov.au.
