Family Support Funding Program (FSFP)

Through the Family Support Funding Program (FSFP) community organisations can apply for a grant to deliver support and services of value to Defence families and the community they live in. Any not-for-profit, incorporated group can apply for an FSFP grant, provided they can demonstrate their commitment to and ability to deliver local community programs or projects with a strong focus on supporting Defence families and the Defence community.

FSFP provides funding to not-for-profit organisations to:

  • help mobile Defence families to integrate successfully and quickly into their community and connect with each other;
  • build solutions and engage in partnerships to bridge gaps in local community resources that strengthen and sustain the ability of Defence member families to adapt to the military way of life;
  • encourage and support Defence families to be actively involved in their community through community development programs and activities;
  • deliver activities to improve resilience; strengthen relationships, support families and improve children's wellbeing

Funding and program guidelines

The FSFP conducts an annual application round and can offer single and multi-year grants, from $2,000 to $75,000. It is important all interested applicants read and understand the program guidelines before applying, and more information is available at any time via email to the mailbox defence.communitygrants@defence.gov.au or through the Defence Family Helpline on 1800 624 608.

Closing date for applications: 31 March
