Maritime Environmental Working Group
The Maritime Environmental Working Group (MEWG) is a bi-annual symposium hosted by the Director General Maritime Development Branch, Capability Development Group (CDG) and Industry Co-Chair. The aim of the MEWG is to provide a forum for CDG and Australian and International Industry Maritime members to consider Defence industry related views and considerations early in the capability development process and to enable the Maritime Development Branch to test the strength of its capability proposals with industry. Using a series of briefings and discussions the MEWG provides updates on major projects, emerging trends in the Maritime Environment while providing industry an opportunity to meet directly with Maritime Development officers to discuss the status of current projects. The MEWG is open to all interested representatives of small-to-medium enterprise and large corporations, both within Australia and abroad.
The MEWG secretariat maintains a virtual community hosted on Govdex. The Govdex site is the primary source of information for upcoming events and aims to facilitate increased communication between representatives from Maritime Development and industry. Please contact Juliana Kwong to request access to the LEWG Govdex community.
