Capability and Plans Branch (C&P)

Capability & Plans Branch seeks to ensure that Defence capabilities match the Government's strategic objectives. The Branch also provides mechanisms for identifying, managing and assessing the future and planned forces.

C&P Branch has the following key responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the outputs of strategy formulation and capability planning are used consistently within CDG
  • CDG input to the Needs phase activities led by the Strategy Division’s Force Structure Development Directorate
  • Provide a range of services in support of the capability development process, the execution of the DCP and the integration of the Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) into the capability development needs and requirements phases.
