Best Practise Cost Estimation - Future Focus


Capability Investment and Resources (CIR) Division of the Department of Defence hosted the 2nd Cost Estimation Conference in conjunction with the Land Warfare Conference 2012, following the very successful Inaugural Conference in June/July 2011. The Conference was conducted on the 29th and 30th October 2012, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Melbourne.
The theme of the Conference was “Best Practice Cost Estimation – Future Focus” : Where should the future focus should be, to support the goal of achieving best practise in cost estimation.

Industry, government and academia alike continue to strive to institutionalise best practise in cost estimation. This involves a number of activities such as improving methodologies, building cost data bases, training and certification of cost estimators. This conference explored where the future opportunities lie to improve cost estimation and to share the experiences of those on the best practise journey.
