RMC All Stars (Big Band)

The RMC All-Stars Big Band is a hard-swinging, exciting and innovative ensemble from within the Band of the Royal Military College, Duntroon. The band's instrumentation consists of the traditional line up from the glorious swing era of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, rhythm and vocals.
The repertoire of the band ranges from traditional big band (Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Woody Herman) through to funky versions of Tower of Power and Quincy Jones arrangements. The Band members also enjoy playing charts of current modern big bands such as the Gordon Goodwin Big Band and works composed by the Australians James Morrison and Ed Wilson. Many of their arrangements are also scored by members of the band.
The band is featured on major concert programs and is the mainstay at balls and cabarets providing Latin, Quickstep and Swing music for the dancing pleasure of patrons. The All-Stars can be seen at Jazz Festivals around Australia, promoting the Australian Defence Force and performing to the young and young at heart.
The band is under the musical direction of Lieutenant Dave Thompson and features the vocal styling of Musician Dave Andrews.
