Duntroon Lounge Club

This group of highly regarded musicians is known for its instrumental abilities and cool, jazzy sounds.

They are used on a frequent basis during the year to perform at Balls, Dinners, Conferences and special events.

The range of music covers the Standard jazz repertoire through to the more contemporary Funk and Latin styles.

The versatility from differing combinations of players ensures they are perfect for any venue or occasion.

CPL Adam Matthews
DLC Leader, Corporal Adam Matthews was born in Canberra, educated at Radford College and attended the Canberra School of Music to study jazz saxophone majoring in improvisation. Having worked as a freelance musician both in Australia and abroad playing styles ranging from jazz and Latin to rock, as well as performing with the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and various chamber music ensembles, he enlisted into the Australian Army on the 8th January 2002.
His first posting was to the Australian Army Band Sydney where, under the leadership of Major Geoff Grey he was featured in the ARIA nominated recording 'Camouflage' and ARIA Gold record winning 'Salute to the Aussie Digger', both which helped to raise more than $60,000 for Legacy and activities assisting homeless persons. In 2002 he was deployed to East Timor and then to the Solomon Islands in 2004 to help maintain morale and esprit de corps for Australian troops. In 2003 the unit was awarded a Chief of Defence Force Commendation for services to both the ADF and the wider community. He was promoted to Lance Corporal in September 2005.
In 2006 he was posted to the Band of the 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment in Townsville where he was subsequently promoted to Corporal in August of that year. The following year he was posted back home to the Band of the Royal Military College taking up the roles of saxophone section leader and IT manager.
Adam has performed and recorded as a soloist on alto, tenor, baritone and soprano saxophones and performed with the likes of James Morrison and Ed Wilson as well as leading various big bands and other small ensembles. His interests outside music include travelling, cooking and mountain biking.
