Commandant DPTC's Welcome

Message from the Commandant Defence Police Training Centre

I would firstly like to welcome you to the Defence Police Training Centre (DPTC) web site.

Since 1993, Lamia Barracks has been the 'Home of the Royal Australian Corps of Military Police' and today, DPTC is its primary tenant, sharing the facility with elements of the 1st Military Police Battalion. In 2003, the Chief of the Defence Force (CDF) issued a Directive (14/ 2003) to establish DPTC. It stated the concept to create a Defence centre of Service Police training excellence. Accordingly, the DPTC training and development mission is to develop and conduct Service Police training in order to create a centre for Service Police training excellence.

This site has been constructed to assist all service members, who have an interest in Service Police training and development within the ADF. This includes Military Police, Naval Police Coxswain and other specialist training. The site covers a wide range of activities and training conducted at DPTC, including RACMP Corps development initiatives.

If you are joining DPTC as an instructor or a student there are certain sections within the administration and course pages that you need to read. Contact details have been provided within each section to assist you in obtaining further information as required. Please do not hesitate in contacting a member of the DPTC team.

There will be regular reviews of this site in terms of content and layout, in addition to the periodic review of the discussion forum. Your support in improving these aspects would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Dev Wing DPTC if you have any suggestions or general feedback on the site.

I look forward to seeing you at the Centre or hearing from you through the discussion forum.
