Aim
The aim of this course is to assess the suitability for employment of all Soldiers in the Royal Australian Corps of Military Police (RACMP) and to provide Military Police (ECN 315) with the basic knowledge and skills to function as Service Police on ADF operations.
General
This is the Single Service - Army Operations phase of the Service Police Basic Course. It is a 16 day continuous course for Active Reserve (ARES) members to gain part qualification in the employment of Service Police. This course prepares members in the operational policing duties required of a Service Police member in RACMP; however, members must attain all required modules to be fully qualified as a Service Police member.
Prerequisites
Rank: PTE TRN (E) - SGT (E)
PES: Medical Class 2
Experience: Minimum of having completed Initial Recruit Training and successful completion of the SPBC (ARES) GD and OP Safety (Part A). C2 licence is strongly recommended.
Pre Course
There is no precourse for this module of the SPBC, however it is strongly recommend that Units panelling personnel on this course ensure they have an understanding of field craft and communications/RATEL procedure prior to attending. It is also recommended that trainees access the necessary doctrine that is available through the doctrine website. There is no requirement for these documents to be printed; however, it is strongly recommended that trainees read and be familiar with the following documents:

Administration requirements
Trainees are to complete all administrative requirements prior to marching in to their respective courses.
Trainees are to download the Joining Instruction and Defence Police Training Centre - Trainee Handbook and complete all pre-course administration as directed as an absolute minimum prior to their attendance.
