DPTC Mission
The Defence Police Training Centre is to develop and deliver modern, relevant and flexible Service Police training in order to meet the requirements of the Australian Defence Force, now and in the future.
DPTC Concept
The concept for DPTC as detailed in CDF Directive 14/ 2003 is to create a Defence centre of Service Police training excellence by providing all Service Police training for Navy and Army; post-graduate Service Police training for Air Force; and corrective and specialist training for the ADF; under a joint command and control arrangement.
COMDT DPTC Intent
Purpose. The Defence Police Training Centre (DPTC) is to develop and deliver all Service Police training for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF); and specialist and corrective training for the Australian Defence Force (ADF), under a joint command and control arrangement utilising allocated resources.
Method. In accordance with the Defence Training Model, National training standards and world's best practice, DPTC will develop and deliver training including initial, advanced and specialist Service Police training for Naval Police Coxswain, Royal Australian Corps of Military Police and RAAF Security Police personnel, appointments and employment categories. It includes corrective and specialist training for selected ADF personnel. Training development will progress Joint and single service requirements for training management plans, employment category policy for Army, and Service Police doctrine. Training delivery will be predicated on quality, derived from operational proficiency, administrative competence and excellence in leadership, in an adult learning environment.
Endstate. DPTC has undertaken effective and efficient training development and conducted quality Service Police, corrective and specialist training, thereby establishing DPTC as a ADF centre of training excellence.
