AIM

The aim of this course is to qualify members from the Service Police Basic Course (SPBC) to drive Defence emergency vehicles and operate ancillary equipment. Successful completion of this course gives the individual member a workplace skill and enhances the capability of the member to function as Service Police on ADF exercises and operations.

GENERAL

This is the Single Service – Army driver's course run in conjunction with the Service Police Basic Course. It is a 6 Working day course. This course provides training to enable drivers to operate emergency vehicles within their current licence code category.

PREREQUISITES

Rank: PTE – SGT
Medical: Medical Class 2
Experience: Must hold a current ADF drivers licence OR an open current civilian ‘C Class' drivers licence.

RESTRICTIONS

Applicants, who have had a court conviction for any driving offence either civil or military, will not be considered for nomination on the Driver ADF Emergency Vehicle Ancillary Equipment Course' for a period of one year from the last day of the disqualification period for that most recent conviction.

Applicants with numerous alcohol/drug driving offences or high level speeding convictions will not be eligible to hold a Defence Emergency Vehicle licence.

A signed Statutory Declaration (Stat-Dec) is required by all candidates detailing all driving offences, licence disqualifications, civil or military in the previous year. This Stat-Dec is to be presented to the Course Manager prior to course commencement.

PRE COURSE

There are no pre course requirements.

ADMINISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Trainees are to complete all administrative requirements prior to marching in to their respective courses.

Trainees are to download the Joining Instruction and Defence Police Training Centre - Trainee Handbook and complete all pre-course administration as directed as an absolute minimum prior to their attendance.
