AUSTRALIAN ARMY BAND KAPOOKA PERFORM

AT TUMUT

Musicians from the Australian Army Band – Kapooka will perform as part of the Tumut Community Foundation event on Friday, 21 April 2006 at the Montreal Theatre, Tumut.

This year’s concert theme, ‘Strike Up the Band’, will be a night of great music variety. Many different styles of music will be presented, including traditional Military music, Jazz and Pop.

Commandant of the Army Recruit Training Centre Kapooka, Colonel Simone Wilkie, said the demonstration of different musical styles will highlight the talents of the military band.

“The skill and talent of the Australian Army Band – Kapooka is well known throughout the Riverina and this is a great opportunity for the people of Tumut to enjoy their music,” COL Wilkie said.

The Australian Army Band – Kapooka is one of the busiest Army Bands in Australia. It has recently visited and performed in Griffith, Narrandera, Corowa, Cowra, Temora and Henty.

Over the past year the band has had an influx of new talent, however all band members are keen to show off their talents to the Tumut community.

The hectic schedule for the band continues as they prepare for the Army in Concert series that will tour during June to November 2006.

Tickets for the Tumut performance are available from Katopra Design and Print, Tumut or by phoning 02 6947 3208.
