Corps Strategic Plan
RA SIGS - WINNING THE SPECTRUM BATTLE
The initial Royal Australian Corps of Signals Strategic Plan was developed in 2004 to ensure the Corps looked towards, and planned for, the future. This plan has been further developed during 2007 and is currently in draft format for comment by RA Sigs Commanders.
Aim
The aim of the RA Sigs Strategic Plan is to set out the mission, vision, objectives, timeline, key messages and performance measures for the Corps.
VISION
RA Sigs excels in communications delivery, contributes to Army capability and is the Corps of first choice, in which work performance is valued and subject mastery is recognised.
Corps Strategy
- RA Sigs, as a Corps, is evolving rapidly in order to achieve milestones mandated under the HNA. The growth and development of the Corps is a key objective, as RA Sigs is operating under conditions of unprecedented operational tempo, whilst experiencing critically low rates of manning within units. Our future success and place as a Corps will be determined by how we take advantage of the opportunities presented by current and future challenges and how we work together as a Corps to achieve outcomes. Contributing towards this aim is a shared responsibility in which serving and previous serving members have a part to play.
Fundamental Objectives
- Trade structures and Officer specialisations that reflect relevant and emerging skills required by deployed forces - validated employment category structures.
- Appropriately staffed Corps and non-Corps positions - recruiting and retention.
- Materiel and training that assists in the delivery of CISEW support - training, technology and equipment.
- Recognition of the Corps origin, previous lessons learnt and of the contribution made by previous serving members - tradition and heritage.
