Whilst our AO covers NSW and the ACT, we have also assisted in investigations both here in Australia and overseas. 52 MP PL (SIB) has participated in a variety of investigations ranging from the relatively minor, to larger and more complex investigations involving personal injury and death of ADF members, serious assaults, theft and defrauding of the Government, drug use/trafficking investigations, some of which became quite high profile in both the local and national media.

But its not always about investigation after the fact, we are also involved in the education and prevention strategies for individuals and organisations, lectures to ADF mbrs and advice to commanders.

Often the investigator is also placed into the position where he or she is first person required to assist the victim of a crime, providing them with advice and consoling them, before they get access to other support mechanisms.

Too often it is a thankless job, where you see others at their very worst, others are rarely pleased to see you and many will do anything to make you task harder. But it provides our team in 52 with the satisfaction of helping others, often those who have the greatest need of assistance, and knowing that you really have made a difference when you go home at night.

I would like to pass on my thanks to each member of 52 MP PL for their tireless efforts this year, who have managed to process and investigate a huge number of cases this year and have done so in a professional manner. I would also like to thank the families of each of the members of 52, for their support and understanding, this year.
