Deputy Head of Corps Report
February Deputy Head of Corps Report
From a Corps perspective, February 2007 has been a month of consolidation and continued work towards achieving the tasks specified in the Corp's Strategic Plan.
MAJ Erin Angelini has done a magnificent job developing the RAAMC Civil Schooling bids for the immediate future. We are attempting to generate whole of trade/whole of career outcomes that provide for a continuum of opportunity for the widest number of ranks and trades in the Corps. The first step in any journey is always the hardest and future submissions now have a sound base for development. Your respective career advisors at DOCM-A and SCMA can provide you with more information on the RAAMC Civil Schooling opportunities.
The 2007 RAAMC Corps Conference is scheduled to be held at ALTC over the period 24-26 Oct 07. The theme for this year's conference will be:
Health Support to Complex Warfighting:
Force Preparation, Force Preservation and Force Protection
The Corps Committee are taking a completely different approach to previous Corps Conferences and we will be organising discussion groups along battlespace effects lines rather than as different craft groups. Conference nomination details are available on this website.
New on the street is a doctrinal publication that was commenced way back in 2003. LWP-HLTH 1.2.10, The Combat Health Support Commanders Handbook, is a very useful and relatively all encompassing book that I am sure will be a useful aid for all RAAMC Officers, NCOs and soldiers. Like all doctrinal publications it is intended as a guide, rather than for blind obedience, but every attempt should be made to keep this book as up to date as possible. Suggestions or amendments on any Army Doctrine should be submitted direct to Doctrine Wing at LWDC. I encourage you to be part of the solution and be active in furthering the development of our Corps doctrinal bedrock.
Finally, now is the time to start thinking about articles for the 2007 issue of Paulatim as well as identifying suitable candidates for the CF Marks and Geoffrey Harkness Medals.
As always, spare a thought for our Corps members on operations throughout the world.
