The MC3 Mack Heavy Cargo truck is used to transport the Army's heavy cargo into and within the battlefield. It is frequently used for transporting M113 APCs into an Area of Operations.

The basic variant is the Truck, Cargo, Heavy, MC3 with an 8 tonne capacity. Power is provided by an 11 litre Mack EM6-285 Maxidyne turbocharged diesel and a Maxitorque gearbox. It is a 6 x 6 configuration. The Mack can be fitted with a winch.

When used as a gun tractor, a collapsible crew shelter for the gun crew is provided behind the driving cab. The shelter is removed on the ammunition variant. The cargo area is divided by an Abbey CTM 3000-2 ammunition handling hydraulic crane with a 2, 000kg lift capacity.
