Conferences

The Land Warfare Studies Centre maintains several conference programs. These conferences allow the LWSC to reach a broader audience than would otherwise be possible with the LWSC's seminar programs. The broader participation base allows the Centre to fulfil its chartered goals of public land warfare advocacy as well as improving the quality of the Army's professional and intellectual debate by enabling access to the views and ideas of those only casually related to Army and broader defence debates.

Chief of Army's Conference

The Chief of Army's Conference (previously the Army Land Warfare Conference) is held biennially, and has been designed as an opportunity to solicit broad community input into issues of great importance facing the Army. The attendance at these conferences is kept deliberatly broad, and the public is welcome to attend. This allows the LWSC access to as broad a range of input into the army's professional debate as possible, and enables those across disciplinary of institutional borders to contribute.

Chief of Army's Exercise

The Chief of Army's exercise is also held biennially in the years alternative to the Chief of Army's Conference. This exercise is not necessarily open to the public, and draws together senior personnel from across the Army to allow them to debate crucial issues for Army and the profession of arms, and to offer on these topics their views, opinions and the unique insights that their individual positions within the organisation afford them. Due to the Army-internal nature of the Chief of Army's Exercise, no proceedings, program or content is usually published by the LWSC.
