Conferences
The Land Warfare Studies Centre maintains several conference programs. These conferences allow the LWSC to reach a broader audience than would otherwise be possible with the LWSC's seminar series. The broader participation base allows the Centre to fulfil its chartered goal of public land warfare advocacy as well as improving the quality of the Army's professional debate.
Sir Vernon Sturdee Seminar Series
The Sir Vernon Sturdee Seminar Series is a biennial event held in conjunction with the Lowy Institute for International Policy, where issues pertinent to national security, defence policy and strategy are presented. Since 2005, we have had the pleasure of hosting senior practitioners and leading thinkers from government, academia, industry and the media.
Chief of Army's Conference Series
expandThe Chief of Army's Conference (previously the Army Land Warfare Conference) is held biennially, and has been designed as an opportunity to solicit broad community input into issues of great importance facing the Army. This allows the LWSC access to as wide a range of input into the Army's professional debate as possible, and enables those across disciplinary or institutional borders to contribute.
