Clerk
The Clerk is a multi-skilled, highly versatile member of usually a small administrative support team. As an administration specialist, a Clerk has responsibility for the personnel management of Defence and civilian members. In addition, they are responsible for a diverse range of clerical duties including the operation and management of modern information management systems and a range of communications equipment.

Combat Engineer
A Sapper, trained as a Combat Engineer, is a combat soldier with a wide range of trade and technical skills. He can wield a chainsaw, build a bridge, clear a minefield, build a road or airfield and use explosives to demolish a target.

Cook
The efficiency of the Australian Army Catering Corps has a direct influence on the morale and well being of the combat soldier. Catering soldiers prepare, cook and serve meals both in field kitchens and Army establishments, to meet the dietary need of the soldier.

Driver
A driver is defined as a soldier who loads, drives and maintains a vehicle and its associated equipment. The driver may be employed to drive a variety of vehicles from a landrover to a prime mover.

Gun Number
The primary task of the Gun Number is the deployment and serving of the artillery gun in support of the Battle Group / deployed force. Alternatively the Gun Number may operate as an Artillery Communicator in a Command Post or Joint Offensive Support Team, in support of the Battle Group / deployed force.

Musician
An Army Musician is a soldier who performs as a professional musician in a military band in a variety of styles. Army bands perform in a range of ensembles including concert, stage and rock bands, wind quintets, and vocal. Bands are a key component of the Army's public relations programme and also take on the Army's share of military musical support to National and State ceremonial occasions such as visits by foreign Heads of State and other public events. Army Bands support Army and Australian Defence Force ceremonial occasions as well as upholding their operational role to entertain deployed troops.

Medic
A medical assistant, provides safe patient care from a controlled environment (health facility) through to independent routine and emergency medical management in the absence of a nurse or doctor.
This encompasses advanced first aid, prehospital emergency care, advanced life support, evacuation of casualties, resuscitation, hospital treatment and skilled nursing care for sick and wounded. They must be able to cope with conventional/unconventional injuries and illnesses in a variety of situations and environments and work independently and effectively under front line defence emergency conditions for long periods.

Rifleman
Infantry is the primary combat arm of the Australian Army. The role of the Infantry is to seek out and close with the enemy, to kill or capture him, to seize and hold ground, repel attack, by day or by night, regardless of season weather or terrain. To carry out this role the Royal Australian Infantry Corps (RAInf) relies heavily on skilled tactics, effective teamwork and cooperation with other corps.

Signals Operator
It is the prime responsibility of The Royal Australian Signals Operators to provide the modern battlefield commander with services such as voice, data, facsimile, E-mail, video, teleconferencing, and satellite communications. It is the The Royal Australian Signals Operators who not only provide these services, but are also required to devise rapid, innovative communication systems that are able to operate in a variety of arduous operational environments.

Storeperson
The Operator Supply is a multi-skilled, highly versatile member of an integrated logistics team. An Operator Supply performs functions associated with providing supply support to the Army and its various units. As a supply specialist, an Operator Supply could perform technical clerical stores functions including stores accounting and electronic ledger entry, warehousing duties including receiving and issuing stores, planning supply support to repair and maintenance programs and/or driving the various vehicles in the Army's inventory.
