Background
- Exercise Haringaroo is a biannual reciprocal infantry company exchange conducted between Land Command and the Royal Malaysian Army (TDM).
- Exercise Haringaroo occurred on a triannual basis but since 2004 was reduced to a biannual activity due to MY resource availability.
- Exercise Haringaroo is typically two weeks in duration.
- The responsibility for planning and conducting each exercise is usually delegated to the sponsoring Infantry Brigade.
- An exercise Initial Planning Conference (IPC), Final Planning Conference (FPC) and reconnaissance of host unit facilities will occur prior to commencement of the exercise.
Aim
- The aim of Exercise Haringaroo is to further develop interoperability between the Australian Army and the TDM at the tactical/unit level.
Objectives
The Australian exercise objectives are to:
- Improve levels of understanding of culture, customs and language among individual members of the TDM and Australian Army.
- Conduct a combined field activity with a focus on military operations.
- Gain a working knowledge of TDM operational, logistic and administrative procedures.

- 2008 Ex Haringaroo 58 RCB 83 (2 CER)

- 2009 Ex Haringaroo 60 RCB 86 (TBC)
- 2009 Ex Haringaroo 61 RCB 87 (TBC)
- 2010 Ex Haringaroo 62 RCB 90 (TBC)
