AACAP Support
Although 17 Construction Squadron has been delegated the task of building houses and infrastructure at Doomadgee, there is much more to the AACAP 07 task than just construction.
AACAP 07, as a whole, involves up to 20 ARMY units, the RAAF, members from the Papua New Guinea Defence Force Engineer Battalion, members from the Rural Development Unit of the Tongan Defence Services, and many more.
Logistically, the AACAP deployment is a mission within itself. Transporting personnel, heavy machinery, trucks, vehicles, building materials, and various other stores to remote areas of Australia (and sustaining them for over three months) is a mammoth task and requires cooperation from all areas of Defence.
