Full Time First Appointment Course

RMC undertook a major analysis of the training that is delivered here at the College in 2006/7 - Project MONASH. The findings from Project MONASH have been implemented through Plan HAMEL and have significantly reshaped the curriculum that is delivered at RMC. The curriculum redevelopment is now in its final stages and is due for endorsement in early November 2008. The pilot Full Time General Service Officer First Appointment Course (FT GSO FAC) has implemented the changes identified in Project MONASH and the result is graduating Lieutenants who are prepared for their specific-to-corps training and capable of commanding platoon groups in the Hardened and Networked Army.

The Class aims for the FT GSO FAC are as follows:

  • III Class - to qualify trainees with the basic soldier skills required to operate within the all-corps section and to prepare trainees who are capable of leading an all-corps section in a conventional military environment.
  • II Class - prepare trainees who are capable of commanding an all-corps platoon in a conventional military environment.
  • I Class - to prepare trainees who are capable of commanding an all-corps platoon in a complex military environment.
