The second instalment of the Focus series on operations was launched by Chief of Army Lieutenant General Ken Gillespie on September 14 at the Australian War Memorial .

Focus on Human Performance in Land Operations extracts the lessons of military history to assist in translating the modern science and research into human aspects on performance and operations.

The 28 contributors in book two deal with the three psychological dimensions of readiness, the human aspects of command and, lastly, force preservation.
