What’s on at the Australian Defence Force Academy

24 August 2019 – ADFA Open Day

This is a chance for potential ADFA candidates, Defence families and members of the community to learn more about the lifestyle, tertiary education and military training on offer at the Academy. There is also a range of military displays by the Navy, Army and Air Force to give you a snapshot of some of the careers available to you in the ADF.

Thousands of people attended the 2018 ADFA Open Day and enjoyed the RAAF Roulettes display, RAAF military working dogs display, a simulated ground based infantry attack by ADFA Midshipmen and Officer Cadets, overwater obstacle course, physical training outdoor battle display, Army vehicle displays, Army Parachute Display Team, Navy helicopters and much more. ADFA’s Midshipmen and Officer Cadets ran stalls, selling food and interacted with families and potential candidates to provide them with insight into life while at ADFA.

The ADFA Open Day Program can be viewed here.

12 December 2019 – ADFA Graduation Parade

The 2019 Graduation Parade will be held at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) on Thursday 12 December 2019, commencing at 9.30am.

The Graduation Parade is a significant milestone in the careers of the graduating midshipmen and officer cadets, marking the culmination of three years of military and academic studies at ADFA. The parade incorporates the presentation of awards and is one of the largest ceremonial evening conducted annually in Australia, with the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia as the Reviewing Officer.

The Academy welcomes all guests to this important event, and hope that the available information will assist with planning. For those unable to attend, the parade is live-streamed on the ADFA Facebook Page.
