Touch Football Club

The ADFA Touch Football Club (ATFC) aims to introduce ADFA officer cadets and midshipmen to touch football in an environment where they can enjoy playing the game amongst friends in both a social and competitive atmosphere. The ATFC allows those with past experience to excel, not only in the local Canberra competition, but in representative teams.

The ATFC participates in the Deakin competition on Wednesday nights and has enjoyed immense success in recent season. The ATFC regularly features in the playoff rounds of the competitions they are involved in. The teams the ATFC puts forward are a mixed and men’s team with expansion into a women’s team likely to occur in the future. The ATFC holds the annual ADFA Touch Football social competition twice a year which allows all members of the Academy to play touch football in a social and safe environment.

This year the ATFC has been involved in reaching out to charities such as Beyondblue to promote awareness about the positive impact sports can have on mental health. This will culminate in a charity event bringing multiple sporting clubs and charities together.
