The Aviation Interest Group (AIG) consists of a group of officer cadets and midshipmen that share a common interest in aviation and aerospace. It provides opportunities to maintain motivation and interest in the future careers of the ADFA undergraduates. In the past the AIG have received briefs from BFTS instructors, F/A-18 aircrew, Roulettes and ACO instructors. The AIG have also had the opportunity to visit all aircraft within the ADF as well as receive flights in aircraft such as the Blackhawk, Chinook, Kiowa, KC-30, CT-4 and Challenger.
The AIG have also attended formal functions at the RAAF’s VIP Squadron in Canberra, visited the Temora aviation museum, held discounted gliding and powered flying camps and attended air shows including Avalon and Wings over Illawarra. The AIG caters for both fixed wing and rotorcraft enthusiasts and accepts suggestions regarding events from all of its members.
