With the ADF transition rate in excess of 6800 members annually, it's important that veterans transition from Defence with appropriate recognition of the training undertaken during their service. Unsurprisingly, some training is 'pure military skills' however other training may be ‘mapped to a civilian equivalent’, ie recognised in a civilian context with nationally recognised accreditation.
The ADF Transition & Civil Recognition (ADF TCR) Project was established in October 2017 to undertake the work of aligning military skills with civilian qualifications. The ADF TCR Project sits within the National Skills Framework (NSF) and the Defence Registered Training Organisation (DRTO) where we endeavour to help you understand what civilian employers want and how to express your service in a way that any employer can understand and value.
